Food & Beverage Director Patrick Johnson has been working in bars and restaurants for over 20 years. Before moving to Saint Croix in December 2018, he was in Palm Springs, California where he had the pleasure of working behind some of the state’s best bars and learning from top experts in the industry. There he was the head bartender at Truss & Twine and the James Beard Award-winning Workshop Kitchen + Bar, created the bar program as bar manager at Watercress Vietnamese Bistro and tended bar at the renowned Bootlegger Tiki. Prior to moving to California, he managed the bar at the historic Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota. A graduate of the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with a degree in writing, he is a BarSmarts Advanced graduate, a Level 1 sommelier, a Certified Beer Server and has written columns on cocktails for the Coachella Valley Independent newspaper. He has a passion for food and beverage and a strong belief in high-end hospitality and customer service.
Brendan Kulaga was born in Massachusetts, grew up in southern Maine and cooked all over the New England sea coast for 20 years. He has cooked in St. Croix for 10 years and has had stints in Washington, D.C., Santa Fe, Albuquerque and St. John Virgin Islands. He lives near cane bay with his dog Mickey.
